World Uni Games Wrap Up

UK F-Teamers Jessica Jackson, Joe Litchfield and Kathryn Greenslade were the brightest crew on deck!

In the midst of a busy semester and studying for exams, our F-Teamers swapped the books for race suits as they headed to the World University Games in Taipei to represent both their country and respected university.

The star F-Teamer of the meet was Australian swimmer Sian Whittaker (@sian_whittaker1) who took home the gold in both the 100m and 200m backstroke in superb fashion! To read about Sian's podium finishes in full detail click here.

The UK girls, Jessica and Kathryn soak up some rays after an amazing week of racing at The Games!

UK girls Kathryn Greenslade (@katgreenslade) from the University of Edinburgh and Jessica Jackson (@jessxjackson) from Plymouth University swam to victory in the 4x200m freestyle relay to claim the bronze for Team GB! Unfortunately, the 4x100m freestyle relay was a little too quick for the girls as they were just shy of a podium finish, coming in 4th. Amazing effort girls!

NZ F-Teamer Carina Doyle cools down in an ice bath at the National Taiwan Sport University after an incredible effort in her events!

Carina Doyle (@carinadoyle) represented Massey University and New Zealand at the games in all freestyle events bar the women's 800m. Her first event was the women's 100m freestyle where she finished 20th in a time of 56.66. After a few days rest Carina was in action again, this time in the 200m freestyle. Carina finished in joint 16th place meaning her spot in the semi-final resulted in a gruelling swim off but unfortunately was just pipped at the wall. Carina also finished 27th in the 50m freestyle, and 21st in the 400m freestyle in a time of 4:21.79.
