Ironman Champ joins Funky Trunks

Funky Trunks is excited to announce our new partnership with two-time Ironman Champion Jimmy Johnsen.

It was a partnership that was meant to be with Jimmy eager to work with an Australian brand that produces world-class products.

'Australia is my new adopted home and I hope to help demonstrate the comfort and superior construction of the Funky Trunks range throughout the triathlon community worldwide. It's great being bright and bold to stand out from the crowd.'

Jimmy's journey into triathlon certainly wasn't conventional. He grew up in Olgod, Denmark and started triathlons to keep fit for football. After finishing his education as a blacksmith he completed his national service and then went on to serve the army in Bosnia as a NATO soldier. Upon his return he started taking triathlons more seriously and made it onto the national team.

In 2008 he quit his job to become a professional triathlete and as he puts it has 'been travelling between Europe and Australia following the sun and triathlons.' Jimmy has notched up some big wins around the world, including Ironman Western Australia last year and has now got his sights set on a big 2013 season.

We're really looking forward to seeing what Jimmy can do and of course decking him out in the brightest Funky Trunks we've got!
